Lateral flow test strips were developed using polyclonal antibodies against the bacteria and gold nanoparticle–antibody conjugates. The lateral flow immunoassay was applied to the simultaneous detection of three potato bacteria characterized by the following limits of detection: 7 × 104 cells/mL for P. atrosepticum, 2 × 104 cells/mL for D. dianthicola and 3 × 105 cells/mL for C. michiganensis subsp. sepedonicus.
